“Do you want your child to have the amazing keys to being safe, strong and respected?”
Dear Friend,
Are you like the hundreds of parents I’ve talked to over the last 29 years? The 14 big concerns that I’ve heard, both in causal conversation and in formal, written surveys of parents, are below:
1. “The world is getting worse. I want my child to be safe from getting attacked or kidnapped."
2. “When my kid grows up and starts traveling, I want her to be able to handle herself.”
3. “I really don’t care what the school says. I want my kid to be able to protect himself when another kid starts hitting him."
4. “My kid is very shy, and has a tough time making friends.”
5. “My child needs to come out of his shell.”
6. “My kid’s grades need to improve. She needs to learn how to focus and believe in herself. That’s what’s holding her back.”
7. “My kid is too afraid to raise his hand in class. I want him to be more confident."
8. “It’s like my kid has a big bullseye painted on her coat. She’s just too submissive.”
9. “My pediatrician says my son needs to lose weight, now!”
10. “My kid needs to be proud of himself. I want him to be able to hold his head up high and have something just for him.”
11. “My daughter was getting grabbed all over by a group of boys. She couldn’t do anything about it. She’s only 10.”
12. “My kid always gets picked last.”
13. “My kid needs an outlet for his aggression and energy, so he won’t get into trouble.”
14. “I want to my kid to have an edge—something other kids don’t have.”
Are you like these parents? Are these your concerns? These are serious problems, and they deserve a studied and proven solution to those problems, NOW.
Well, there’s good news! Kung fu is the proven solution to these problems. You may know Kung Fu for its legendary self-defense prowess through movies like “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” or Jet Li films. Did you know that kung fu was considered the best means for a person to reach his or her own inner potential? It was considered absolutely essential for a person to learn if that person was to be a success in life. It was also a mandatory part of the education of the children of aristocrats and rulers.
That kung fu power is the foundation of the kids’ training. We have modernized it by adding specific solutions for abduction, and violence on children. We constantly test our training methods and constantly work to improve instructors’ teaching methods. We study and talk with the parents and children in our programs. All this constant, ongoing program work has lead to WATER MOUNTAIN’S SIX POINT PROGRAM for making your child safe, strong, and respected. You can see that program for yourself, by buying a $29, 30 minute private lesson. Buy Now!
Point #1: Kung Fu provides an outlet for Aggressive Impulses And Gives Instant Power.
Have you ever felt helpless? Like you couldn’t do anything to change your situation? Like the odds were hopeless? Your child will to. Did you feel angry? Your child will to. The truth is the animal angry response is inside of all of us, and when we can control and direct it, it is a powerful tool for getting unpleasant stuff done. When we don’t control it—disaster. Kung fu provides a potent, unparalleled outlet for aggression that is safe. It teaches your child how to focus and channel emotion. What will your child experience when he or she hits a pad, “Bam!” for the first time? A sense of instant power! Instant gratification from controlling and directing aggression. Your kid’s brain learns (not just says) “Controlling and focusing myself let’s me be powerful!” That’s a lesson you can actually watch your child learn, by trying a $29 private, one-on-one, 30 minute GUARANTEED lesson. Say "Yes" to your child’s power and click here to buy (Buy Now).
Point #2: Kung Fu Motivates Your Child
To actually move around.
Water
Mountain program is designed to actively teach your child the importance of being motivated, and of being physically fit. With a 45% rise in childhood obesity, that motivation is essential. Kung fu can easily be the largest calorie burner in your child’s life. It is true that Flagstaff has plenty of other recreational opportunities to burn calories, like the massive soccer program. That’s great if your child works well in team sports. Is he or she:
1. Naturally coordinated? We can teach that and will take the time.
2. Naturally sociable? We build the basics of social skills.
3. Going to be picked last? We’re not set up for picking.
Are team sports really for your child? And do you want to be the taxi to all the games? The truth is Water Mountain is about 50% athletes, and 50% not at all athletic. Progress in Kung Fu is individual, and our focus on MUTUAL RESPECT lets everyone get along and actually enjoy each other. Besides, when is the last time having great ball skills resulted is someone being able to protect themselves from an attack? Nutshell: Kung fu means fit, able to succeed at a sport, able to protect yourself.
Point #3: Kung Fu builds basic social skills.
We teach basic social skills. It is a required part of training. The skills are drilled just like punches and kicks are drilled, with fun, motivated repetition. Let me ask you a simple question, where else will your child get this type of practice? Will his or her friends do it? Will the school do it as part of classes? Certainly, you may try, but do you really have the time to drill it, and will your child respond to it since it comes from you. After a certain point, no matter what you do, you are just going to be too uncool to be listened to. These basic lessons reinforce 6 major elements of social interaction: 1. Making a greeting to both adults and peers. 2. How to show concern for others.
3. Making apologies.
4. Showing and knowing respect.
5. Keeping a tidy appearance.
6. Showing gratitude.
The list goes on! These are scripted responses that your child memorizes so that he or she has confidence in how to do something right socially rather than be riddled with social fear. It is part of our training philosophy that a person should leave class as both a warrior and a gentleman (or gentlewoman). In a youth culture that admires thugs and thuggish behavior, it’s important to have a constant, opposite force.
Point 4: Fending Off Teasing and Bullying
Teasing and Bullying is really a taboo subject. It is of tremendous importance, because it can cripple the victim. Is this an exaggeration? Well, I’ve talked with a lot of parents that were teased themselves, it’s not an exaggeration. It takes years to overcome the crushing effect of being bullied and teased. YEARS. It is a significant source of shame into adulthood. It is taboo to talk about because school systems aren’t willing to commit scarce resources to combating it. Frankly, if your child is being victimized, you don’t know what to do, other than say “Just ignore it,” or “Sticks and Stones.” Unfortunately, both are useless approaches.
Has your child had to defend him or herself in school? What was the outcome? As the victim, he or she was suspended, even though the law would clearly regard it as an issue of self-defense! The predator prey relationship in that situation was reinforced, and actually made worse. Do you know why schools do this? They are concerned about the civil liability of fighting, and don’t want to get sued.
Do you know what happens to a child that is being bullied and teased, and that feels helpless about addressing bullying and teasing? He or she starts to hate school. When he or she starts to hate school, he or she starts to avoid school and school work. Does this sound like a situation that’s going to lead to future success in adulthood? A person that learns to despise learning? It is clearly a situation that destroys success skills.
A person that has the skill to successfully address this type of aggression feels as if he or she can handle difficult situations in life, and will not avoid them. Who do you think, as an adult, will earn more money? The one that avoids difficulty or the one that overcomes difficulty?
Water Mountain’s kid’s kung fu develops bully and teasing defense by learning 5 skill sets.
1. Developing social skills so they are an undesirable target. 2. Recognizing the triggers that lead to being bullied. 3. Counteracting the influence of bullying and teasing. 4. Giving off the appropriate body signals that say, “I’m not an easy target.” 5. Having the skills to physically defend themselves.

Point 5: Confidence and Self-belief. Where does it come from and why is it important?
Put two kids side-by-side in your mind. One is standing upright, in shape, confident, and filled with the belief that he or she can succeed at difficult things. The other is slumped, clothes out of order, not sure how to talk to other people, lacking in confidence, and afraid of trying because he or she might fail. The two are of equal intelligence. Who do you think will have more friends, and be more popular? More importantly, who do you think will make more money, and have better relationships as an adult? Clear answer, isn’t it? Who do you want your kid to be?
I’m going to talk about why kung fu can do this, but you can find out for yourself by signing your child up for a private, one-on-one, 30 minute introductory lesson. For $29, in 30 minutes, you can actually watch your child grow more confident, guaranteed. You can see it for yourself. Click here to purchase (Buy Now)!

Daughter has seen across the board gains. Extremely positive experience. |
Entire family feels good here. |
Would welcome it to everyone alive. |
Son is much more comfortable in social settings. | Feel the confidence in those letters? There is no specific one thing that we do that allows us to build these things in kids. It’s the total 6 point package. It’s the raw kung fu getting the power out. It’s the social skills. It’s the social awareness. It’s the success skills like perseverance, and motivation we teach them. It’s all these things together. These exist in Kung Fu, because kung fu is built to release inner strength. That inner strength is the foundation that the physical kung fu is built on. It is also the foundation for a powerful and effective human being.
Point 6: Keeping Your Kid Safe from Violence.
Self-defense for the vast majority of people is basically wishful thinking, because they are unaware of the how bad a self-defense situation can be, what the odds of an attack are, and what the solutions are.
Your child faces 4 real possibilities of attack: 1. Conflict before it becomes physical violence. 2. Trickery used to lure a child into an abduction. 3. Child on Child physical assault. 4. Adult on Child physical assault, typically to assist in an abduction.
Some information so that you know what the odds are like for your child in Flagstaff, Arizona. Our children are from families of good character, and most attend charter schools or are home schooled. Our kids, as a group, successfully defend themselves against child on child violence about 1 and 1/2 times per year. That may not seem all that important to you, but that's a time that the child felt like he or she could handle conflict, and felt strong rather than feeling helpless and like a victim.
As for adult on child violence, that's a difficult situation. It's a difficult situation because your average adult is about 3 times the weight, and twice the height of your average child under the age of twelve. That' like a 5'9" adult weighing 155 pounds being attacked by an 11 foot tall man weighing 465 pounds. Not an easy situation for you, as an adult, is it? How do you survive in a situation like that?
Keep this in mind: without training, you are relying on luck for self-protection. Your child would likely lose any child on child situation, and would certainly lose in any situation involving an adult.
Predators, whether they are child bullies or adult abductors, spend a lot of time getting to know prey and look for vulnerable times to strike. That is their fascination. Your child spends very little time involved in the study of defense or resistance. Who do you think has the advantage?
Stranger Danger, and Why it’s Bad.
When stranger danger has been tested, both on talk shows and in reality, it fails to protect children. Why? Kids think of bad strangers as wearing hockey masks and carrying machetes. That doesn’t fit a lot of people. Child predators are also often known to their victims. They are not necessarily a close family friend, but the child does not regard the adult as a stranger, because he or she knows them. So stranger danger doesn’t apply in the child’s mind. Lastly, predators are tricky and use tactics to lure children. This bypasses the child’s defense. These lures are so effective, they can be used on teens and adults—even YOU!
We teach lure recognition, so no matter who the person is, when a lure is presented the kung fu student has a good chance of recognizing it.

Water Mountain Instructors at a theme-based test: The Test of DOOM! Selected for the fun of the testing students! | Isn’t kung fu success something that you want your child to have? Do you see why kung fu is so highly regarded as a pathway to success? Well, let’s see if you and your child qualify.
What are the ages like?
Our kids program is for children that are 12 years old or younger. Older than twelve go to our teen and adult program, as their needs are better met in that program. From 6 to the age of 2, we will only accept your child as a private student. 4 and under require the presence of a nanny or parent at all times.
Solutions to Transportation Issues
I’ve talked to a lot of parents about the issues surrounding kung fu, and transportation is a biggie. No one really wants to spend all of his or her time being the taxi, and I’ve made a great effort to ease that burden. We have a flexible scheduling system called the PODS system. It allows you to make weekly schedule changes. There are also private lessons that are booked according to your availability and the instructor’s availability. No matter what option you choose, kids are expected to arrive on time. Although parents are always welcome to observe, as long as your child is over the age of 4, you need not have anyone present at the lesson. This will free you to run errands during the class time, or car pool your drop off. Pick up is flexible.
Our two training options, developed to provide your child with the best results.
WaterMountain has two training options, private lessons or group lessons. In group lessons, we require a one year commitment. Getting kung fu benefits, particularly those of self-defense, requires a minimum of a year of practice. Group classes cost most students between $157-$200 month. Private lessons are $37 per session. A minimum of 2 private sessions per month are recommended.
Shorter programs are generally low commitment entertainment programs. Don’t mistake martial arts as entertainment for martial arts as personal development. They’re not the same. You’ll spend a lot less going elsewhere, but if you pay a man a nickel, you get a nickel’s worth. If you want that, you’ll have no problem finding it in Flagstaff, but we’re not it.
